Fashion Denver :: Holiday Fashion Market

So finally, a chance to sit down and spend some quality time for a much needed update.

In December, I was given the opportunity to be involved with Fashion Denver's Holiday Fashion Market.  Thanks to Brandi, aka Dreamer/Doer/Rockstar, she designated me as the Fashion Coordinator for the fashion show piece of the event.  She gave me a few racks full of beautiful creations by local designers and basically said, have at it!  And so I did...

It was a very much welcomed opportunity and undoubtedly, a pleasure to have been a part of.  Now on to some photos from the event...

These Kimono-inspired designs are by Francis D Roces which are truly one of a kind pieces.  His collection consists of rich textiles with interesting lines and a modern flair.  I loved his statements belts made of men's ties in various colors and patterns, sewn together to create an eye-catching piece sure to flatter every female's waistline.

Rae Marie's collection is bold, very edgy and totally hip.  But she also has very chic, romantic and flirty pieces that are also very unique.  I actually bought this black dress - a corset layered with a black sheer net fabric with sparkle details.  I wore it for NYE but regrettably, did not get a chance to take pictures.

Another collection featured in the fashion show was Turbo Lovin'.  I thought I had snapped some photos of what the female models wore but since I can't seem to find them, go to their site to browse through some of their products.

The capes are from the KimonoDragons' line, which are an absolute must-have!  They are such bold, statement pieces that you can layer it on a simple black cocktail dress and transform your ensemble to glam!

In between sets, I got a chance to walk around and check out some of the vendor booths.

mukee features handmade jewelries and belt buckles from reclaimed skateboards.  How cool is that?!

I also got a chance to meet Alan and Ryan, of Omerica Organic, which I blogged on an earlier post back in October from the Fall Fashion Market.  The military-style dog tags shown below can be customized with any information you want on it.  Want one?  Check out their site for some inspiration and examples on your personalized text.  I'm still trying to figure out what I want on mine.

I've attached links to their sites if you're interested in perusing through any of these local designers' collections and perhaps, purchasing your own one of a kind clothing/accessories.  You can also check them out at Fashion Denver's next fashion market or for Fashion Denver's Grand Opening at their new studio space on Jan 22.  It will be an open house and trunk show featuring these local designers along with many more.   Mark your calendars!

And last but not least, the wonderful Brandi with Santa Claus.  Thanks for letting me be a part of this event and I hope and look forward to working with you on future projects!
